"My little baker"

That's what Greg called me this morning. I was in the middle of mixing batter and spooning it into a muffin pan.

So, the last few Banana Nut Muffins are just out of the oven and are now cooling next to me. This was a new recipe for me, and that applies to quite a few things I've baked (and cooked for dinner). Went through a pound of flour since January and have bought a larger bottle of vanilla extract since the small one was used up pretty quickly.
Some of the new-to-me recipes (some made more than once) are: Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins, Banana Bread, Pignoli Pound Cake, Blackberry Muffins (with enough batter to also turn out a loaf) and Chocolate Zucchini Bundt Cake - made for Greg's birthday (recipe worked well in muffin pan too):

A new dinner recipe the other night was Tagliatelle with Prosciutto and Orange (didn't call for Blood Orange but that's what I had on hand). Greg said it's a keeper.
have they ever heard of tagliatelle in NFLD?  I used linguine.
Have made soups: Roasted Red Pepper, Creamy Cauliflower with Smokey Bacon, and Garlic Soup. Garlic Soup came about because I bought a huge bag of peeled garlic and overlooked the 'best by' date - it was looming 3 weeks away.   Recipe called for 5 cloves, think I used 12-15.  The soup was sort of like French Onion Soup.
Have also made rack of lamb twice: Fennel & Rosemary Crusted and Spice-Coated (with Cumin, Cocoa and Coffee). Rigatoni with Cauliflower in Spicy Pink Sauce is becoming a staple; its soooo good the second day.  And, Wild Mushroom & Stilton Galette was yummy.

Greg's been cooking too... has tried some things out of a decadent cookbook he got for his birthday.

He's going to have to start his own blog for you to hear about those.  ;)
